MOTOR ADVICE DURING LOCKDOWN

Check List:It is important you maintain your car regardless of servicing requirements. We recommend that you regularly check the following items:Start your car at least once a week and run engine to normal operating temperature to keep the battery in good condition.Engine oil levels.Coolant level.Check tyre pressure - please refer to your owner's manual for more information. If your car service is delayed it is even more important that you regularly carry out the checks detailed above until the scheduled service is carried out, paying particular attention to the oil level. From 30th March 2020 all Cars, vans and motorcycles with an MOT falling due, will be temporarily exempted (6 months) UK Government has announced. You must still keep your vehicle in a roadworthy condition and some garages will stay open for repairs. If you cannot get an MOT that's due because you're in self-isolation, the Department for Transport is working with insurers and the police to ensure people are not unfairly penalised for things out of their control.MOT's for buses, trailers and HGV's have been suspended for three months, from 20th March 2020.Breakdown cover should be a consideration for anyone using their vehicle during this period. If customers are seeking guidance during COVID-19 regarding their cars and finance, a very useful link is shown here: https://www.fla.org.uk/coronavirus--customer-information/
